The strong impulses of filtered light are absorbed by melanin, the pigment in the hair. In turn the hair is heated and destroys the cells responsible for hair growth.

Approximately 6 - 10 treaments may be required for permanent or long term hair removal, with a 4 - 6 week interval between treatments.
